XLSX Viewer Online
Open an Excel spreadsheet without Excel: sheets, formulas, dates, colors and merged cells. Find out what the file tells about you, and find what is hidden.
What the tool can do
- Shows values the way Excel sees them: number, percent, currency and date formats, formulas, fill colors, bold text, merged cells, comments and links.
- The “Workbook profile” finds hidden and “very hidden” sheets, hidden rows and columns, macros, external links, errors in cells, numbers stored as text, and extra spaces.
- Shows what data about you the file keeps: the author, whoever saved it last, the organization, the dates. Download a copy without this data with one button: the numbers, formulas and formatting do not change.
- Click a cell with a formula and the cells it depends on are highlighted. Select a range to see the sum, average, minimum and maximum.
- Search runs across all sheets at once: through values and through the text of formulas.
- Comparing two versions of a workbook shows which cells changed, appeared or disappeared, and lets you export the list of differences.
- Export a sheet, a range or all sheets at once (ZIP) to CSV, TSV, JSON, Markdown and HTML.
The workbook is read right in the browser and sent nowhere. XLSX and XLSM are supported. Save old XLS files and password-protected workbooks in Excel as a regular XLSX first.
Formulas are not recalculated: the values that Excel saved in the file are shown. Colors and fonts are shown in simplified form, charts and pictures are not drawn but are taken into account in the workbook profile.
