Crop PDF
Remove extra margins from pages: drag a frame with the mouse, set margins in millimeters or rely on auto-detection. It can also split book spreads into separate pages.
What the tool can do
- Frame on the page: drag an edge or corner, move it as a whole or draw a new one. Margins in millimeters can be typed in manually, and the values update together with the frame.
- Auto-detect finds where the content on a page ends and leaves the padding you set. For the whole document a common frame is taken from the “widest” page, so nothing gets cut off.
- Three modes: one frame for all pages, separate for odd and even (book scans, where the inner margin is on one side), or its own frame for each page. The “Mirror” button copies the margins of odd pages to even ones.
- Splitting spreads: if two book pages lay on one sheet in the scanner, split the sheet in half vertically or horizontally, set the cut position and reading order. The content is not added to the file a second time.
- Rotated pages and pages of different sizes are supported. Cropping can be applied to selected pages, for example “3-10, 15”.
By default the page display area (CropBox) is changed: this way all reading programs show the crop. The “Also change the sheet size” checkbox additionally shortens the sheet itself.
Data outside the frame stays inside the file and can be extracted with special programs. If you need to truly remove confidential material, use the “Redact PDF” tool.
The original file is not changed: you download a new copy.
