Color Palettes: Harmonies, Shades, Contrast
Picking color combinations, a Tailwind-style shade scale, a palette from a picture, WCAG contrast and color blindness checks, a format converter.
What the tool can do
- Color harmonies (complementary, triad, square and others) in OKLCH mode: the lightness stays the same, and the palette looks even.
- The 50–950 shade scale is built in OKLCH and keeps the saturation: no dirty grays in the light and dark steps.
- A palette from an image: the main colors with the share of each, an eyedropper on any pixel, and you can paste a screenshot from the clipboard.
- A WCAG contrast check that finds the nearest text color that passes AA and AAA, and a contrast matrix for the whole palette.
- Color blindness simulation for the palette and for your image, plus a warning about which colors may blend together.
- A converter for any CSS color: HEX, RGB, HSL, HWB, OKLCH, CMYK and the nearest color name. Export of the palette to CSS, SCSS, JSON, Tailwind and SVG.
Images are processed in your browser and uploaded nowhere. The palette is remembered on your device.
Color names are approximate: the nearest one is picked from a built-in list of about ninety names. CMYK is calculated by a simple formula without a color profile; for printing, use your print shop's profile.
