File Hash: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, CRC32
Check the integrity of a downloaded file, compare it with a checksum file or find identical files. Files are not uploaded to a server.
What the tool can do
- Files of any size are read in chunks, so a gigabyte disk image does not “eat” your memory.
- All the selected algorithms are calculated in a single pass over the file; the speed is shown.
- Checking against a list of sums: paste the contents of SHA256SUMS or a line “hash file_name” — you get ✅ and ❌ for each file, as in sha256sum -c.
- Finding identical files among the selected ones (by size and hash).
- Saving the result to a SHA256SUMS / MD5SUMS file in a format that Linux and macOS understand.
- You can select many files at once and drag them in with the mouse.
Files never leave your computer: the hash is calculated by code on this page. This matters when checking distributions, documents and other data that should not be sent over the internet.
