What the tool can do
- Ten cards: percent of a number, what share one number is of another, increase and decrease by a percent, finding the whole, change, VAT, markup.
- Under each result is the formula with your numbers, so you can check the calculation and not slip up in the logic.
- A chain of changes: +20%, then −20% gives not zero but −4%. The calculator shows the result for any number of steps.
- Compound interest: starting amount, monthly contributions, term and compounding, with a table by year.
- The difference between margin and markup is calculated side by side so they are not confused when setting prices.
- The VAT rate is entered manually, so it suits any country and any period.
Calculations are rounded only when displayed; double-precision numbers are used internally. For accounting documents, check the cents against your own rounding rules.
